Carmen A. Brutico III is currently in his fifth year of study in the Architectural Engineering program at the Pennsylvania State University. Carmen will graduate with an integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering Degree focusing in Construction Management in December 2009. Carmen has successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and will gain Engineer in Training status upon graduation.

Carmen’s career began at the age of 15 with a summer construction job. For five summers throughout high school he worked as a mason and laborer with a local masonry and custom homes builder. This hands-on practice has given Carmen valuable field experience and knowledge in construction. Carmen has also had two previous summers of experience in construction management as an intern with Performance Contracting Group, a nationally recognized company as the top wall and ceiling contractor and with Jacobs Engineering Group, one of the world’s largest and most diverse engineering and construction companies. Through the two internships, Carmen has honed his construction management skills and further increased his knowledge of the construction industry. From the field to the office, the many years of diverse experiences has given Carmen a well rounded comprehension of construction.

Outside of work and academics, Carmen enjoys being in the outdoors and spending time with his family. He enjoys such activities that include working with his hands as well as challenging his mind. With an intangible love for food, Carmen also enjoys exploring the boundaries of the palate, by cooking. Ultimately, his extensive work background, academic aspiration, and love for a physical and mental challenge, will facilitate him in whatever path his career takes.
